Pelvic Massage (Mercier Massage Therapy)
Mercier Therapy is a form of Gynovisceral Massage in which massage therapy techniques are applied to the organs and surrounding musculature of the female pelvis. This technique is used to help restore the health, general well-being and balance within these structures.
Pelvic adhesions and malposition of the pelvic organs can occur for many different reasons and can disrupt normal function of bladder, bowels and reproductive organs by causing rigidity, decrease movement and blood flow. Mercier Therapy is used to counteract and remove adhesions, increase blood flow and mobility thereby decreasing pain and increasing wellness.
Mercier Therapy can be used for reproductive wellness and can be used as a stand alone therapy or in conjunction with naturopathic medicine or medically assisted reproductive therapy. Mercier Therapy is recommended prior to any medical procedure, ensuring optimal reproductive wellness.

Post Partum Massage – Mom & Baby Massage
The last 10 months have been busy for your body. Your body has been changing & accommodating, growing your baby. It has been labouring and birthing your baby. Now it rocks, cuddles, swaddles and helps you show love to your baby. None of this is an easy task.
Postpartum massage is a time for you to take care of your body so it can take care of your baby. Massage can help relieve aches and pains from carrying, feeding, car seats, decreased sleep and recovery from pregnancy and birth. It is not uncommon for mothers to have musculoskeletal pain in the first year especially in the upper body. Common complaints that massage can help with are:
Headaches | Carpal tunnel | Shoulder, Neck, Back & Breast Pain | Fatigue | Stress | Depression | Sciatica
Babies can join mom’s for a massage. Massage can be adapted to having babies cuddle or feed on the table.
Taking care of yourself should be part of taking care of your baby.
The communication that can be conveyed with touch is vast in its lexicon and can help children of all ages with their own awareness and confidence in themselves and their bodies. Above all touch is a fundamental need as a human and the benefits obtained are not only beneficial after one is “old enough to receive massage”. Massage from the beginning of life can be an important bonding tool for parents and babies, allowing a quiet time to connect and get to know each other. It also plays an important role in laying groundwork for a child’s ability to acknowledge positive touch, teach relaxation, heal birth trauma and to claim their bodies as their own.
Massages can be done by the therapist or taught to mom, dad and caregivers to be done at home.
Infant Massage can also be beneficial to
- Teach healthy sleep patterns
- Relieve discomfort from gas or colic
- Normalize muscle tone and increase muscle health
- Increase body awareness
- Aid in brain and central nervous system development
- Increase self-confidence/ esteem and respect
- Increase fine and gross motor control
